Celebrate the holidays in the Amazon in Brazil and in Rio de Janeiro!

It’s not too late to start planning your getaways for US Thanksgiving and for New Year’s Eve, and we think Brazil is the perfect destination for your adventures.

For US Thanksgiving, take a trip to the Tapajós region of the Amazon!

amazon-in-brazilThe Amazon in Brazil is a year-round destination, although our favourite time of the year is between July and December, when it rains less, and the incredibly beautiful white sand beaches appear.

Described by Jacques Cousteau as the ‘Caribbean of the Amazon’ because of its rare ‘blue’ waters, the Tapajós region of the Amazon in Brazil gives the adventurous traveler a perspective of one of the most scenic and culturally interesting areas of the Amazon, and what’s best: still undiscovered by mass tourism. What’s special about this region is that, in a relatively small distance, you will find the three types of rivers present in the Amazon basin: black waters, yellow waters and the beautiful and rare blue waters, each with its own ecosystem. This is one of the most beautiful and well preserved areas of the Amazon.

The Amazon cruising experience is about blending with nature, treks in the forest, exploring rivers, lounging on the beach and visiting indigenous communities. Cruising the Tapajós region is a perfect family holiday, completely off the beaten track. Watch this video to take a virtual journey through the Tapajós.

Spend New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro with our amazing luxury hotel packages!

Fireworks BrazilAny time of the year is great to visit Rio de Janeiro, but New Year’s Eve in Copacabana is a must. For anyone who wants to start the forthcoming year in style, Rio is the place!

New Year’s Eve is Rio’s second most popular celebration, runner-up only to Carnival. People from all over the world, and Brazilians from all states, flock to the “Marvelous City” this time of the year. Copacabana is where the festivities happen, attracting over 2 million people every year. At midnight, with the turning of the year, the fireworks festival begins, lasting for about 15 to 20 minutes. Spectators on the beach, in buildings along the Copacabana ocean avenue and on board the giant cruise ships, have different points of view of the spectacle, but share the same exciting atmosphere and cheerful spirit that only Rio knows how to provide.
