International Travel is Opening Up!

What a journey we have been on these past 20+ months! While there are still many chapters left in the Covid-19 global pandemic, the story is improving with the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and ever expanding knowledge of how to safely re-engage with our local communities and with the world more broadly. This also means that international travel corridors are opening – slowly at first, but in recent days and weeks there have been some exciting developments which will help facilitate our ability to explore the globe once again.

In Canada – Terraficionados’ ‘home base’ – the Government lifted their blanket advisory to “Avoid Non-Essential Travel” on October 21, 2021 (which had been in effect since March 13, 2020 in response to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic). This has been replaced by strongly-worded advice that Canadians who travel abroad should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and exercise caution with respect to the virus and the pandemic. Details can be seen here: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories. In the United States, the Government lifted a Pandemic Travel Ban on November 8, 2021 for 33 countries whom had been prohibited to travel into the country for tourism purposes since early March 2020. These major announcements come alongside easing entry restrictions in many countries around the globe.

While we can hardly claim that the pandemic is over – far from it – these are major steps forward in our collective ability to once again venture abroad and re-discover the passion that fuels our wanderlust.

As the world reopens, there remains a myriad of border entry protocols to navigate, local conditions to respect, and most importantly we must pay close attention to how we safely explore foreign lands and cultures once again. We will no doubt be in a transition phase for some time, but there is also no doubt that the global window is open for those who are ready to explore.

If you are ready to get out there, Terraficionados can help you address the details, nuances, and protocols required to safely re-engage with the world!
