On this 10-day trip, learn about all Israel has to offer, and explore its various World Heritage Sites in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the surrounding regions! In addition, journey into Jordan to visit Amman, the capital city, as well as the ancient, breathtaking city of Petra. This trip packs it in – From magnificent temples and cathedrals, to beautiful architecture and landscapes, Israel and Jordan will leave you breathless!

Day 1

Welcome to Israel!

Upon arrival, meet with our representative and they will assist you with your luggage. Transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2

Details for Today

Transfer from Tel Aviv to Tiberias, visiting sites en route:

  • Tour the Old City of Jaffa
  • Explore Caesarea
  • Visit Haifa and view the beautiful Bahai Gardens
  • Visit the historic walled port city of Acre

After breakfast, drive to the Old City of Jaffa. Participate in a walking tour of the World Heritage Site – The White City of Tel Aviv. This city was constructed from the early 1930s until the 1950s, based on the urban plan by Sir Patrick Geddes, reflecting modern organic planning principles.

Proceed along the Coastal Highway (Via Maris) to visit Caesarea, built by Herod the Great and once the seat of Roman rule. View the excavated Roman Theater, and see the aqueduct, once used for conveying water to the city.

Continue to Haifa, and at the foot of the Carmel Mountain view the Bahai Gardens surrounding the Bahai Temple and resting place of the religion’s prophet.

On to the World Heritage Site of Acre. Acre is an exceptional historic walled port-city with continuous settlement from the Phoenician period. The present city is characteristic of a fortified town dating from the Ottoman 18th and 19th centuries. Acre preserves substantial remains of its medieval Crusader buildings beneath the existing Moslem fortified town dating from the18th and 19th centuries. Visit the Crusaders Halls and Al Jazar Mosque then transfer to your hotel in Tiberias.

Day 3

Tiberias and surrounding area:

  • Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee
  • Visit various sites, where according to Christian tradition, Jesus performed miracles
  • Tour Tel Hazor, a World Heritage Site
  • Visit the church of Annunciation in Nazareth
  • See the Baptism site of Yardenit on the Jordan River

Accommodation: Caesar Premier Tiberias

After breakfast, depart the hotel to take a boat ride on Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum where a 2nd century synagogue was discovered which threw light on the life of the community of that era. According to the Christian tradition, Jesus served here as a local rabbi and performed miracles.

Proceed to visit Tabgha; two old churches built on ancient ruins of Jewish villages commemorate the miracles of the Christian savior who fed 5000 starving people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves, cured lepers and opened blind eyes (Mathew 14: 15-20). Here you will have the chance to enjoy a traditional St Peter Fish Lunch.

On to Mount of Beatitudes; north of the Sea of Galilee, atop the Beatitudes Mount, lies a beautiful church with an octagonal dome that represents the 8 “Beatitudes” of the sermon that Jesus Christ blessed his disciples with 2000 years ago (Mathew 5: 1-12).

Drive to visit the World Heritage Site of Tel Hazor. Tel Hazor is a testimony to a civilization that has disappeared – that of the Cananean cities of the Bronze Age. It was the largest fortified area in Israel during the Israelite period (ninth century B.C.E.).

Continue to Nazareth and visit the church of Annunciation.

Drive via Cana of Galilee to visit the Baptism site of Yardenit on the Jordan River.

Day 4

Transfer: From Tiberias to Amman, Jordan

En route:

  • Explore Jerash and see the Temple of Artemis
  • Visit the famous site of Quseir Amra

Accommodation: Four Seasons Amman

After breakfast, drive to the Sheik Hussein Bridge and cross the border to Jordan. Visit Jerash where we see the temple of Artemis, massive colonnaded streets and Roman theater.

After Lunch proceed to World Heritage Site of Quseir Amra. Built in the early 8th century, this exceptionally well-preserved desert castle was both a fortress with a garrison and a residence of the Umayyad caliphs. The most outstanding features of this small pleasure palace are the reception hall and the hammam, both richly decorated with figurative murals that reflect the secular art of the time.

Proceed to Amman for dinner and to check in to your hotel.

Day 5

Transfer: From Amman to Petra

En Route to Petra: 

  • Visit St. George’s Cathedral
  • Explore Mount Nebo
  • Experiece the views of the Dead Sea, Jordan River and Jedean Mountain

After breakfast, drive from Amman to Madaba; enjoy a short visit to St.George’s cathedral where the 6th century mosaic map is laid down.

Continue to Mount Nebo; A short bus ride to Mount Nebo (the traditional burial place of Moses) to enjoy the panoramic view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Jordan River, and Judean Mountains. The old church on top of the mountain has large pieces of well-preserved mosaics that date back to the Byzantine era.

Drive down the famed King’s Highway until your arrival at the ancient Nabataean city of Petra.

Day 6

Petra: 

  • Take a horse ride through Petra
  • See a Roman theatre
  • Visit Royal Tombs
  • Tour the urban living quarters of Petra

Transfer: From Petra, Jordan to the Dead Sea, Israel

Accommodation: Herods Dead Sea Hotel

Today, take a full day to visit Petra; take a 2 minutes walk to the gates of Petra where horses are waiting to take visitors on a short ride until the beginning of the Siq, after which they have to walk through the narrow canyon till the first great monument where the treasury is revealed. Continue on to see a Roman theater, Royal Tombs and urban living quarters.

In the afternoon drive to the Eilat/Aquaba border and cross back into Israel. Drive up the Arrava Valley and the along the lines of the Syria-African Rift. Arrive at your Dead Sea Hotel.

Day 7

Dead Sea:

  • Float in the Dead Sea
  • Ascend Massada on a cable car
  • Explore the palaces, warehouses and living areas of Massada
  • Enjoy the views of the Judean Desert
  • Visit Qumran to see the Dead Sea Scrolls

Transfer: From the Dead Sea to Jerusalem

Jerusalem 

  • Stop at a beautiful view point on Jericho and St. George Monastery

After breakfast, have the morning at leisure to float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea!

Later, ascend Massada; the fortress of Massada is set on a giant cliff, and one of the greatest palaces in history built by King Herod. A cable car takes visitors up to the cliff, to an unforgettable tour of the palaces, the warehouses and resident areas, the water complex, the impressive fortified system and to the most fascinating views of the Judean Desert.

In the afternoon, visit Qumran; the famous Dead Sea Scrolls found in the nearby caves in 1947 exposed the secret life of the Essenes, a small ancient ultra-religious sect of Judaism.

Drive towards Jerusalem and stop for a breath-taking view point on Jericho and St. George Monastery which is hidden in a deep canyon in Wadi Kelt.

Day 8

  • Climb the Mount of Olives
  • Explore the Garden of Gethsemane
  • Walk the Via Dolorosa
  • Visit the Church of Holy Sepulcher
  • Tour the Church of Nativity

After breakfast, ascend Mount of Olives for a view point of Jerusalem. Overlooking the Old City, the mount is covered partly in olive trees, cemeteries and churches.

On to visit the Garden of Gethsemane, with the ancient olive trees believed to date back to the times of Christ.

Enter the Old City and walk the Via Dolorosa to visit Church of Holy Sepulcher.

Lunch in the Arab bazaar and then continue on to visit the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus.

Day 9

Jerusalem:

  • Ascend the Temple Mount to see the Dome of the Rock and El Akza Mosques
  • Visit the Archaeological Park of the Davidson Center for a visual presentation
  • See the Western Wall
  • Walk to Mount Zion
  • Tour the room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb
  • Visit the Israeli Parliament
  • Visit the Holocaust Memorial & Museum

Today, enter the Old city of Jerusalem via the Dung Gate ascending Temple Mount: The Dome of the Rock and El Akza Mosques. This is the holiest place in Jerusalem for both Jews and Muslims. Descend Mt Temple and visit the Archaeological Park of the Davidson Center and view the centers impressive Virtual Presentation.

On to the Western Wall; Most holy for the Jewish people, as the remains of the wall that surrounded the Temple Mount. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Cardo to Mt. Zion and visit the room of the Last Supper and “King David’s Tomb”.

Drive to see the Israeli Parliament & the Menorah, symbol of the Jewish State showing 29 icons of Jewish History.

Continue to visit Yad VaShem, the Holocaust Memorial & Museum; The Jewish peoples’ memorial to the murdered six million in the Holocaust, containing the world’s largest repository of information on the Holocaust.

Day 10
